Frequently Asked Questions About Stem Cell Therapy

Below you’ll find answers to some of the questions we receive most about Stem Cell Therapy.

In short, stem cells are cells in your body that can transform into all types of tissues within your body, including those of organs and skin. According to the Mayo Clinic, “Stem cells are the body’s raw materials – cells from which all other cells with specialized functions are generated. Under the right conditions in the body or a laboratory, stem cells divide to form more cells called daughter cells. These daughter cells either become new stem cells (self-renewal) or become specialized cells (differentiation) with a more specific function, such as blood cells, brain cells, heart muscle cells or bone cells. No other cell in the body has the natural ability to generate new cell types.”

At Stem Cell Pro we utilize the highest quality lab in the country (predictivebiotech.com) to get all of our Regenerative Therapy products. These stem cells are harvested from the umbilical cords and the placenta after a cesarean section is performed at a local hospital. This process allows both mother and baby to go home healthy and happy and instead of throwing the umbilical cords and the placenta in the waste bin (as was done in the past), we can now extract the cells needed to perform the regenerative therapies on anyone that could benefit. The process is safe and extremely effective for all degenerative disease processes especially conditions like arthritis and inflammatory conditions. This way of harvesting creates a healing product that is not dependent on blood types or donor matches. Patients with all blood types can use any of the treatment options available from Stem Cell Pro. The mothers are tested for diseases before the stem cells are harvested and the products are also tested after harvesting them from the placenta and umbilical cords to maintain the highest level of quality possible which allows for the best results available on the market today!

There are other clinics that utilize cells derived from the patient’s own body. This can have good results but in essence the patient is now “robbing Peter to pay Paul”. In other words, when you take stem cells from the bone marrow of the hip as is common, you may get great results for knee, shoulder or back pain, but too often it leads to pain in the hip from the area you took the cells away from.  The procedures used to harvest these cells from your own body are an additional surgical procedure that can be very hard on your body and it is not necessary.

The other type of treatment that is commonly sited is embryonic stem cells. These are stem cells that are harvested after an abortion is performed. The physicians and owners of Stem Cell Pro do not and would not perform any medical procedure that has anything to do with abortions. Thankfully this practice is illegal in the United States and is not practiced.

In summary, the physicians at Stem Cell Pro only use the highest quality of human tissue products on the market that have been tested for quality and effectiveness. When a recommendation is made, rest assured amazing results are the expectation!

Stem Cells have been termed the “master cells” of the body. These “master cells” have the ability to “differentiate” or turn into new tissue. A stem cell can become new bone, muscles, tendons, ligaments and cartilage, to name just a few. The way this happens is stem cells are attracted to inflammation or damaged tissue. Once a stem cell attaches to damaged or inflamed tissue the master cell can grow into whatever the body needs it to be in order to heal. Science has learned that one of the reasons people heal slower as they age is because they have less stem cells to replace or repair damaged tissue.

Remember when you were 5 years old and you fell off a bike. How long did it hurt? Maybe 10 minutes? That same bike accident at age 20 might take 2 days to heal, and at age 40 it may take a week but it usually does heal. Now picture falling off your bike at age 65 and months later your still in pain! What is the difference between age 5 to 20 to 40 to age 65 or older. The only difference is you have less stem cells to stimulate the healing.

Stem Cell Therapy is based on increasing the number of Stem Cells that are able to repair and replace damaged tissue. The goal would be to help you heal like you did when you were younger. It really is that simple.

No Surgery: Perhaps the biggest benefit of stem cell therapy is that it is not invasive. This means no risky surgery! We are not against surgery when necessary but we do not recommend surgery unless it’s the last possible option.

Fast Recovery Time: Recovery from surgeries can take months. The recovery time with stem cell therapy is minimal because healing is focused on the damaged tissue, not additional surgical incisions. Patients are typically back to their normal routine within 24 hours!

No Anesthesia Required: The idea of having to go under for a procedure is very overwhelming for many people. Others may dislike how anesthesia makes them feel. With stem cell therapy no anesthesia is required because the procedure is not painful.

Does not require medications: Medications such as opioids and narcotics and to a lesser extent even over the counter pain meds can cause unwanted side effects. Stem Cell Therapy in many cases can eliminate the need for these types of medication.

Stem Cells are being used today for almost every known condition in medicine.

However, the providers at Stem Cell Pro are currently focused on health conditions that are directly related to pain caused by inflammation, such as arthritis and tendonitis.

Below is a list of areas that we currently treat:

This is a question that comes up all the time and for very good reason. Many warnings have been voiced from the FDA and other regulators of the medical industry. Stem Cells have been used in research and in treatments for decades but still has a reputation as being experimental. The truth of the mater is the FDA has been very clear on the subject of Stem Cell Therapy. On September 3, 2019 the FDA put out an article on it’s website that outlines many of the concerns but also explained that it recognizes that Stem Cell Therapy can be extremely helpful. The following passage is taken directly from the FDA’s own article warning about stem cells.

“The facts: Stem cell therapies may offer the potential to treat diseases or conditions for which few treatments exist. Sometimes called the body’s “master cells,” stem cells are the cells that develop into blood, brain, bones, and all of the body’s organs. They have the potential to repair, restore, replace, and regenerate cells, and could possibly be used to treat many medical conditions and diseases.”

The truth is from the right clinic who gets the products from a trusted lab the treatment is safe. If done at a unknown clinic with products from unproven sources it may not even be legal. It is important to ask the right questions to the providers that are doing the treatments.

Some of the red flags that should cause alarm are:

– Clinic and or provider can’t or won’t tell you from what lab the Stem Cells are sourced from.

– The Stem Cells are stored in a regular freezer or not not in a freezer at all. (For best results products should be stored in a nitrogen controlled cyrofreezer at 60 degrees below zero celsius!)

– Promises from the clinic or provider of miraculous or guaranteed results.

– Both extremely low and or outrageously high prices. (Prices either under $1200 or over $6000 per treatment should make you pause).

The bottom line is you need to do your research. Ask the right questions and you need to be able to trust the clinic, the doctor and the lab that is involved with your Stem Cell Therapy procedure. If you are uncomfortable with any one of those 3 key participants it’s best to stay clear!

At Stem Cell Pro we are committed to the highest quality products from the best lab that gives our patients the highest chance of the outcome we have come to expect. Please do not hesitate to call us with questions or to learn more about the lab we are currently using please see the link below:

Stem Cells are for anyone looking to treat their pain without surgery or pain medications. This means that anyone of any age can benefit from stem cell therapy. As we age, the amount of healing stem cells we have in our body greatly diminishes. That is why we do not heal and recover at age 50 or 60 the same way we healed as teenagers or even younger. The good news is the technology to harvest stem cells from the placenta or umbilical cords of mothers after a cesarean birth gives us all an opportunity to increase the body’s ability to heal like we did when we were younger! Stem Cell Therapy has traditionally been considered an elective procedure and not covered by insurance companies. However, there have been some exciting developments in the early part of 2020 that now allows certain therapies to be covered by some plans.

The following are insurance companies that the provider works with:

  • Medicare
  • Cigna
  • United Health Care
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Aetna

The vast majority of insurance carriers plans do not cover all treatment options but more and more are beginning to recognize the benefits and include coverage options for regenerative therapies.

Stem Cell Pro can and will verify benefits with any insurance company prior to performing any procedure. This allows us to share with you what the insurance will cover and what your out of pocket expense will be.

For patients paying cash for therapies the average cost of doing stem cell therapies across the country is well over $7,500 per treatment. However, because stem cell therapy is our main focus we have significantly reduced the cost due to our relationship with the lab (source of our stem cells). We are proud say that our stem cell therapy options start at $1700 and even for the most expensive products (highest quality/best results) are only $5,900!
